HYERES AND ITS COAST IN 2100

General presentation

The 2021 GIEC report predicts a sea level rise about 2.40m by 2100. Starting from this theory, we analysed the impact on the city of Hyères as a group in order to reflect on the future of the coastline.  

By overcoming current economic constraints, the goal of this work was to reveal the long-term potential of the site by questioning economic activities, mobility, and biodiversity.

Due to its double tombolo, this particular configuration, Hyères is a city with an exceptional landscape that offers a rich biodiversity. These places are sensitive and will be impacted by rising sea levels. We first focused on identifying
